The Balcon Trio is a London-based swing group formed by two guitarists called Charlie and a double bassist called Charles (yes, really!). Inspired by the great Django Reinhardt, the trio combines traditional gypsy swing with flavours of jazz and soul to create a sound that will get your foot tapping! Perfect for weddings and parties of all varieties, The Balcon Trio will be sure to add a touch of class and upbeat fun to your event. As well as performing as a trio, the two Charlies perform as Balcon Manouche, a guitar duo suited to more intimate venues and smaller locations. For both line-ups there is the option for us to perform fully acoustically in case the venue has sound restrictions.

The Balcon Trio came to play at my firm’s Christmas party and were a great hit. They struck just the right jaunty vibe to help get the party going and received lots of admiring comments from the guests.

The Balcon Trio performed a concert evening at Le QuecumBar back in March. Their music was perfectly suited to a fun and lively atmosphere and they were great with all the customers. All three of them were friendly and easy to work.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We can be flexible in what we play. Whether it be simply some background ambience to give your guests room to chat, or an upbeat swinging performance that will get all your guests dancing, just let us know what you need for your event.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

The Hurlingham Club, Le Quecumbar & Brasserie, Chichester film festival. Numerous corporate clients, private parties and weddings across the UK.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Django Rheinhardt, Bireli Lagrene, The Rosenberg Trio, Bill Evans, Jim Hall

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes, we perform as a duo with two guitars and as a trio with the addition of double bass.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We will try our best to flexible and work around the needs of our clients to ensure we can put on the best performance possible. We understand that sometimes things don't go as planned, so just keep us informed and we will do our best to make things work.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually take around 15-20 minutes to set up and do a quick soundcheck.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Of course, and do let us know if you have any special requests that aren't in our repertoire.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

We will bring all of our own equipment as standard. For events with 200+ guests we recommend that the client provides a PA for us to run our amps to ensure the music can be heard by all guests.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We are happy to learn 2 extra songs per gig free of charge. For additional songs there is a fee of £30 each to cover rehearsal costs.
