Our mission is to support musicians by making it simple for anyone to book them through a fair and transparent online platform.
Encore began in 2014 when James McAulay, a cellist, met James King, a pianist.
Between them, they had two degrees in Computer Science, two performance diplomas, and they played a total of 7 instruments, so working together to build an online platform for musicians was the perfect way to apply their skills.
Encore began as a network of music students around the UK, and reached 2,500 members within its first year. Demand for these musicians from customers organising events started to grow, and so in 2015 the team began working on technology to make booking musicians simpler than ever.
Since then, Encore has facilitated thousands of bookings in every corner of the UK, and has become home to over 25,000 musicians and 10,000 bands and ensembles.
The team have ambitious plans, and so in many respects, the Encore story has only just begun.
