Vicky is a highly experienced pianist, and has played in numerous settings across the UK such as weddings, funerals, and department stores. She absolutely adores playing for people, and her greatest passion in life is finding expression and freedom through the piano Whether you're looking for a pianist for your special event or occasion, or in a more regular setting, Vicky would be honoured to provide her services to you and entertain your guests Vicky is extremely well versed in a variety of styles ranging from pop hits (such as John Legend and Burt Bacharach), to classical music especially from the Romantic Period such as Liszt and Chopin, to many of the most beloved jazz standards including Misty, All The Things You Are, and many more Born and raised in a house with the piano at the heart of it, Vicky has been playing the piano for over 30 years. She initially trained as a classical pianist, and since then has gone on to deeply explore and re-train in many of the numerous formats that the piano can offer. Vicky also composes (with her compositions having been used on Radio 4) and plays regularly in pop bands and jazz groups Vicky is based in Derbyshire and covers the surrounding areas, including Sheffield, Manchester and Leeds, and further afield

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I've been complimented on the flow of my performances, playing a set list that weaves one song in to the next to allow for a seamless feel to the music

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I've played at Westfield shopping centre in London, Thornbridge Hall, various churches around the UK

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Where to begin! I'm blown away by Art Tatum, love any stride piano pianist like Fats Waller. When I first heard Muse it opened by ears in to hearing classical piano and rock combined, it was the first time I'd ever heard something like that and it fused my two worlds of music together. More recently I've fallen in love with Elton John all over again

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Any time I'm playing at a particularly quiet moment of an occasion is a high-profile moment for me, as it is so important to that person or group's day. The first time I played for a funeral procession was a time of great honour and responsibility I felt

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Definitely. This is a very popular request and I always offer this service for free

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually set up 1 hour before the performance time. As soon as my PA is set up I can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

Absolutely! So long as the piano is in working order and in tune, I would be delighted to play on it

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

My set lists are crafted from multiple performances and learning what works best to ensure the right atmosphere is created. However, I'm definitely happy to chat through and make sure I find what works for your event

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

Yes, absolutely! Very often I bring my 88-key Yamaha P45 stage piano with built-in speakers and dedicated PA

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes absolutely. I offer 2 of your song requests (that aren't on my standard repertoire list) for free and then an additional charge for each new song request after that. One month's notice to allow for rehearsal time!
