Chris O’Gorman is a UK-based folk and country singer-songwriter with Irish and Italian roots. His music blends the storytelling traditions of 1960s folk icons like Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and Joan Baez with a contemporary sensibility. Drawing from his diverse heritage, O’Gorman crafts songs that resonate with authenticity and emotional depth. Chris has worked extensively behind the scenes in the UK music industry at two of the three major record label groups, Sony Music Entertainment and UMG, and has worked with some of the world's biggest recording artists. Initially a classically trained flautist, Chris went on to study Music Production at Leeds Conservatoire, where he developed his skills as a songwriter, pianist, guitarist and producer. His time at the Conservatoire was one of immense musical exploration and experimentation, where he got to work with musicians from the jazz, classical, musical theatre and rock and pop courses. After graduating from Leeds Conservatoire, Chris toured the UK with the leading Westlife and Take That tribute band 'Take That 2' alongside Tom Parker, who would later go on to join The Wanted, one of Britain’s biggest pop bands. During this time, Chris was working on his debut album ‘Items for the Memory Box’, but placed the project on hold in 2012 when he joined Sony Music Entertainment. In the following years, he worked with some of Sony's biggest global artists, including One Direction, Little Mix, Il Divo, Leona Lewis, and Susan Boyle. He then left Sony Music to join the newly formed record label Capitol Records UK (part of Universal Music Group) where he worked with Nick Raphael and Jo Charrington (two of the most influential and successful A&R executives in the UK music industry) to launch the careers of two brand new acts, Sam Smith and 5 Seconds Of Summer. During his time at Capitol Records, Chris also worked on album projects for Jennifer Lopez, The Gypsy Kings and Shane Filan (Westlife). In 2015, he returned to his own music, re-packaging his debut album with additional tracks and releasing it under the new title ‘Version Of Me’. After leaving Capitol Records, Chris founded his own entertainment production company, where he continued to work with major recording artists including Anastacia, Chris Rea, Beck, Train, The Wombats and Mary Chapin Carpenter. In 2023, Chris was featured on the hit UK TV show 'The Piano' alongside renowned concert pianist Lang Lang and recording artist Mika and in 2024 began work on the songs for his next album project 'The Springtime Of Our Lives', an intimate collection of songs that incorporates country, roots, blues and folk.
