Claire Gale

Claire is a freelance vocalist and singing teacher based in West Sussex. She is currently working as a Performing Arts Graduate at Great Walstead School, where she plays a key role in teaching and inspiring young students in music and drama. Claire holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Performance and a First Class Honours Degree in BMus Vocal Performance from the University of Chichester Conservatoire. During her time there she was a part of a variety of music programmes and groups, including being a founding member of the close harmony A Capella group The Chitettes and singing with the Sleepy Lagoon Orchestra; a 30s/40s swing band which performs internationally. Her performance experience includes appearances at prestigious venues and events, such as the Royal Albert Hall, Glyndebourne Opera House, Goodwood House, and the Chichester Arts Festival. Claire has performed in various cathedrals throughout the UK, and was a choral scholar at Arundel Cathedral for five years. Here she recorded two CD's, including as a featured soloist for Gjeilo's 'Ave Generosa' on the album 'Jubilate Deo'. She frequently performs with the choir at various events and services. ​ Additionally, she has toured internationally with the University Chamber Choir, singing in cathedrals in both Belgium and France. Her recent operatic roles include ‘Dido’ in Purcell's ‘Dido and Aeneas’ and chorus/cover for Mimí in Puccini's La Bohème with the Hastings Philharmonic Orchestra. She is a passionate and versatile soprano with particular expertise in opera, choral, and swing music, who strives to deliver engaging and memorable performances. ​ In addition to performing, Claire also works as a singing teacher in and around West Sussex. She offers private lessons in schools, online, and at the pupils' homes; sharing her extensive knowledge of and passion for singing with young vocalists.
