What’s paramount to me as a DJ is how to entertain a crowd, throwing away your ego and showing off your mixing and scratching skills is only a part of what makes a great DJ. I've been lucky enough to be continuously DJing since 1986, when I only had turntables to learn my craft. Since then, I’ve kept up with the technology and skills needed to keep a busy dance floor, be it 20 or 2000 people. I love all genres of music, but dance or house music in particular is my favorite. I've DJ'd events that wanted ska & reggae, indie & rock, 70s & 80s, soul, funk and disco right up to the current-day genres of pop, hip hop, RNB, D&B, hype, grime and drill. Where my forte lies whilst DJing is reading a crowd, making that change if what I’m playing is not working and blending one genre into another. Weddings notoriously have a wide range of ages. You’ll please most people most of the time, but not all people all the time. Knowing how much micwork you should use also comes with experience. Some crowds love an MC style of night, others just continuous mixing without a word. Every crowd is different, so as a DJ my prerogative is planning and research. I will come fully armed with the best of my knowledge of who my crowd is and what they want, and together we can both enjoy a memorable musical experience.

I booked Dazz Events for one of their brands “Dlishouse” and it was absolutely amazing! It opened up an entire new audience to my venue which I had not had before. Darren and his team did all aspects of the event from promotion, decoration and building the hype to get the rebookings also. We have a few more events booked in with them, I will be continuing to use them for this brand and also with their other brands too. I have also used their mobile services in the last few weeks as I had a corporate event for one of my other businesses too. Would highly recommend and anyone is welcome to contact me to discuss this anytime anyone would want me to.

Darren is a highly consumate professional who goes above and beyond in everything he does. His experience and depth of musical knowledge makes him a cut above and really helps him stand out from the crowd. Speaking of crowds, his audience engagement is second to none, ensuring the experience for the consumer is the most enjoyable it can be, entertaining, engaging, and above all fun for the crowd. Darren is totally adaptable to any situation, particularly handy at events like the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, and without doubt, he's always first on my teamsheet!

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The fact that I'm adaptable and experienced with most genres of music and have the skills to keep the dance floor busy.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Silverstone F1, O2 Bristol and various nightclubs across the UK.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

The artists I'm most influenced by are luckily the ones I've worked with, as I have warmed Up and Closed For Calvin Harris, Judge Jules, Pete Tong, Tinie Tempah, Pendulum, Trevor Nelson, James Hype, Joel Corry & Mousse T to name but a few.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

The most high profile gig I've performed would be Bambalam in Bristol, where I closed a house event going on after Mousse T, with a very responsive crowd of 200.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Please get in contact ASAP, and provided I'm not booked on said changed date this shouldn't be a problem.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA after the final set until the venue closes, we provide this for an additional £100.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 2 hours depending on the number of additional applications included, i.e. lights, dry ice machine, cold sparks machines etc.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Of course! I'm here to entertain and make sure you're happy during your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, absolutely! You just bring family & friends!

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If its DJ specific, yes I can.
