Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Clients often praise the variety of my repertoire and my ability to adapt to any style of genre, providing a "something for everyone" result. I'm also noted often noted for my professionalism and for being very easy to work with.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I am a frequent performer across the North East and have been resident at several Newcastle venues including the Crowne Plaza and St. James's URC. Other notables venues performed at across the country include The Lit and Phil, Newcaslte Theatre Royal The Swinburne Hall, The Turner Sims, Southampton Guildhall, The Anvil and Alnwick Playhouse to name a few.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

In addition to the great classical pianists and composers I'm also heavily influenced by many contemporary artists including Billy Joel, Fats Waller, Gregory Porter, Ludovico Einaudi, Yann Tiersen and many others.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I was recently the MD and pianist for the Newcastle Theatre Royal run of Gerry & Sewell which played for six standing ovations from sell out crowds over the space of five days and received rave reviews. Besides this I've played at many high profile venues across the UK and internationally.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Minor timing changes are usually no problem at all and as long as they're workable within my schedule I'm more than happy to adjusted to them. More significant ones may be possible but will depend on specific circumstance, again, very happy to discuss this if needs be.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I typically don't provide this kind of service as it is not my expertise.

How much time do you need to set up?

If the venue has a piano there I can arrive and begin playing pretty much immediately! If I am providing the piano myself a short time is required to set it up, but this typically does not exceed thirty minutes. Although, I usually like to be at a venue at least an hour beforehand to account for any unforeseen issues etc.

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

Absolutely! I'm used to performing on venue's own pianos so this is perfectly fine and in fact preferable as it negates the need for transporting and setting up an electronic instrument.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Of course! I have a wide repertoire that you're more than welcome to choose from and I will also happily learn new pieces that are desired. Certain pieces may work better than other when it comes to being performed on solo piano but I will happily discuss specifics.

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

I can provide my own digital piano and amplification in certain circumstances but this will depend on travel. Very happy to discuss specifics relating to this but my preference is performing on acoustic instruments already at a venue where possible.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

I am very happy to learn specific songs for events and in fact do this very regularly Depending upon the number of songs, complexity, and timeframe involved there may be specific considerations for these requests but I am happy to discuss that beforehand!
