Jade H Harp

I have a deep rooted passion for creating a magical and enchanting atmosphere using my harp. This instrument spoke to me as a young child and I was captivated by its otherworldly quality. Life became exciting when I began to study classical harp as a teenager and I fully developed my skill as a performer at University. When I qualified as a Master of Music in 2003, from London University it felt like a dream come true. I began to play for an agent in London and played in Mayfair clubs on my green and gold electric harp. I enjoyed this work and decided to pursue playing in other regions in the South West, which is home. I found additional new management with several agents. It was a busy time travelling from Dorset to London sometimes two weddings in one day! I took a break to learn some new skills in Brittany, France and Kilkenny, Ireland and learnt some beautiful Celtic harp music. I learned to sing and play the harp and found the haunting melodies of these countries truly fairy like and magical. Then in 2010, I joined new agencies, playint as a solo harpist for charities and weddings in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire. Some highlights from the last ten years have been Waltz music at Blenheim Palace, Tudor music at Thornbury castle, Elizabethan music at Sherborne Castle Orangery, Celtic songs at Porthleven food festival and Sacred songs at the chapel on St. Michael’s Mount. I opened the fairy festival in Cornwall with a solo harp and voice set and played at the fairy event At Glastonbury assembly rooms on a mediaeval harp! It was magic! Now I have the unique opportunity to offer you classical, folk, popular, Celtic, medieval and contemporary music choices. Each event I perform at has its own set list which I develop with the client based on their preferences and themes. I love creating something truly individual each time I play and encourage clients to think outside of the box. There are repertoire lists which I can use as a basic framework for suggestions however I like to get to know you and encourage the choices to come from your hearts. In the near future, I’m excited to be performing at some big venues in the South West, in particular the Welsh Grand National at Chepstow racecourse playing to 40K people! I do have amplification and can play either with or without the addition of an amplifier. I cannot wait to talk to you about your event and create a magical harp experience solely for you!
