KSLICE's Reviews

Shadobeni

KSLICE brought a dynamic and unforgettable energy to the Ariapita Social Club: Homecoming edition. Her set was a masterclass in genre-blending — weaving together bassline-heavy heaters with classic reggaeton, Caribbean soca, and dancehall, while seamlessly introducing SWANA, Arab, and Latin club sounds. The dancefloor was alive from start to finish — a reflection of her ability to read the crowd, take risks, and curate a truly global sound experience that still felt grounded in culture and community. Her selections are intentional, her transitions are tight, and her presence behind the decks is magnetic. KSLICE doesn’t just play tracks — she builds atmosphere. Highly recommended for any event looking to bring real vibrancy, rhythm, and cross-cultural connection to their space.” — Shadobeni Ariapita Social Club

As a delegate for British Underground and Arts Council England, witnessing KSLICE perform at Jazzahead was nothing short of powerful. Her set took us on a lyrical and rhythmically rich journey — from soulful house to jazz-inflected grooves and globally and beyond. It wasn’t just a DJ set; it was a cultural exploration, rooted in community and carried by intention. KSLICE has a unique ability to blend the personal with the political, the local with the global — weaving sounds that honour heritage while pushing boundaries. Seeing her captivate an international crowd at Jazzahead was a defining moment, not just in her career, but for the wider narrative of diasporic sound in UK music. A true curator of feeling, energy, and connection — her presence on that stage signalled a new wave.” — Almass Badat Cultural Curator at British Underground

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Clients love the energy, depth, and cultural richness I bring to every set. I blend global sounds — from reggaeton and baile funk to soulful house and jazz — with intention, flow, and real-time crowd connection. Each performance is a curated journey that moves the dancefloor and celebrates diasporic sound.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I’ve performed at a range of vibrant venues including Mare Street Market, Sketch London, Two Tribes Campfire, The Jago, Club Makossa, Number 90, Soho House, 180 Strand, Niketown Oxford Circus, G-SHOCK Carnaby, Bread & Butter, Next Door Records, El Pastor (Coal Drops Yard), and across Lisbon at Tokyo Bar, Lusophonica, and ESR.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I’m inspired by artists who fuse culture, rhythm, and soul — like Kaytranada, Erykah Badu, Nidia, DJ Lag, Gilles Peterson, Quantic, Channel Tres, and DJ Raff. Their ability to blend global sounds with depth and identity has shaped how I approach storytelling through music, both on the decks and across my curation.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Some of my most high-profile performances include sets at Glastonbury, We Out Here, Love Supreme, Risen, End of The Road, and Mighty Hoopla. Each festival offered a unique crowd and atmosphere, allowing me to showcase genre-fusing sets that reflect my identity, energy, and love for global underground sound.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know as this shouldn’t too much of an issue to adapt.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely - if booking for a panel / corporate booking with guest speakers throughout the segments we can offer this service.

How much time do you need to set up?

I typically need around 15–30 minutes to set up, depending on the equipment provided. If CDJs and a mixer are already in place, I can plug in and go quickly. For more complex setups (e.g. custom visuals, external gear), I’ll confirm tech requirements in advance to ensure a smooth start.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Absolutely — I’m happy to work with a set list or suggested tracks if you have a specific vibe or theme in mind. I’ll always balance your input with live crowd reading to keep the energy right, but collaboration is always welcome to shape the sound of the night.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I usually perform using venue-provided industry-standard equipment (e.g. CDJs and mixer), but I can bring USBs, headphones, and any personal gear I need. If a full setup is required, I’m happy to discuss tech specs in advance to make sure everything runs smoothly. I don’t provide a PA system, so sound and tech should be arranged in advance.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes — I’m happy to prepare specific tracks or incorporate particular pieces into the set if requested in advance. Just share your selections or the vibe you’re aiming for ahead of time, and I’ll make sure they’re worked in smoothly while keeping the flow of the set intact.
