Lily Fowke-Green

I am Lily, a Cambridge and Manchester based classically trained violinist and folk fiddler studying classical voice. I am an experience performer who has performed at a wide range of events, from gala concerts and symphony concerts to conferences, parties and balls. My passion for violin started off with classical music. When I was a young teenager, I lessened my time on my phone in order to dedicate myself to long hours of violin practice. Music is one of the greatest joys of my life, and part of that joy is performance and sharing my passion for music with other people. As a classical violinist, I am an experience solo performer, and also experience in performing in chamber groups and orchestras. In Manchester, I have been a member of the University of Manchester Baroque Orchestra and the University of Manchester Symphony, and a member of the Taraneh Orchestra, a young professional orchestra. Although classical music is one of my major passions, one of my great enjoyments of violin is the range of repertoire availabe to it. In the past three years I have been a member of two ceilidh bands, performing many ceilidh gigs at Cambridge and Oxford University formal events from balls to parties and corporate events. I have also co-ordinated and played in two Oxford Burns Night ceilidh events myself, and last year was a member of a folk duo, performing at various parties and corporate events. More recently, I have set up my own ensemble in Manchester called Troubadour; a group if instrumentalists and singers performing a mixture of folk, classical and medieval repertoire. We are set to perform at several folk festivals next year, as well as concerts of our own. Alongside this, I have studied klezmer this year as a member of the Michael Cahan Kapelye, and have performed at a Halle Klezmer dance, a concert at the Manchester Jewish Museum and another in the university, after which I received many glowing responses for my performance. My love of performance and broad musical background means that I will provide an extra bit of sparkle to your event. As an experienced performer and friendly person, I will help to bring a positive light to the atmosphere of your special day.
