A freelance clarinettist and saxophonist based in Kent, Nelson completed a MA in Clarinet performance at The Royal Academy of Music in 2021. Prior to this, he attended RAM as an undergraduate student, having been awarded the Arthur Lyon Scholarship at the time of his audition. Recent music highlights include Thursford Christmas Spectacular, Annie and Phantom of the Opera, Young Frankenstein and Odyssey Festival Orchestra at the Queen Elizabeth Hall. Future events include London youth Opera and Royal Academy of Music Composers Club. Nelson thoroughly enjoys chamber music and is a founding member of Chiltern Winds, a London based Wind Quintet who won the Nicholas Blake Woodwind Prize at RAM 2021.

Nelson exceeded all expectations! Thoroughly professional, a beautiful clarinet player, who played effortlessly, with grace and elegance at our private service in a meadow in Derbyshire. He was able to play all the songs requested for the service with skill and confidence and many pieces bought guests to tears. Nelson is a charming, intelligent professional musician with excellent communication skills and was greatly appreciated by those attending on the day.
