We were so lucky to have Paul play piano and sing at our wedding—he was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Not only is he a talented musician with a beautiful voice, but he was also incredibly organised and professional throughout the entire process. He helped us choose the perfect music for each part of the day, took the time to understand our vision, and even learned and performed our special requests flawlessly. We can’t recommend him highly enough!

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I get a lot of compliments about my singing voice. My Irish accent comes through quite a lot and adds a unique touch to my vocals that has been commented on in a very positive way. I like to imbue any song that I play with emotion and soul , this is something that has been picked up and appreciated by listeners in the past.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I have played in some amazing venues over the years but some of the highlights include: O2 Arena, London O2 Academy, Bristol Abbey Road Studios, London Mandela Hall, Belfast Ulster Hall, Belfast The Garage, Glasgow King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, Glasgow Wales Millenium Centre, Cardiff Whelan's, Dublin

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

My influences are Billy Joel, Elton John, David Bowie, Ben Folds, Foy Vance, Lisa Hannigan, Duke Special, Bon Iver, Florence and the Machine, Lorde... and many many more.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

After winning the Next BRIT Thing award in 2012, I played a show in the O2 Arena London, which was very surreal. My band, ABQ, supported the American band The Rocket Summer on one of their UK tours which included a sold out show in the O2 Academy in Bristol.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

If you book the "Full Day" package then there are no issues with timings changing. If you book a different package then as long as suffiecient notice is given (at least 2 weeks if possible) then there will be no issues with timing changes.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I can play music between sets through my PA system. I can't provide a DJ service.

How much time do you need to set up?

I always aim to arrive at a venue 1.5 hours in advance if possible. My set up and pack down takes around 15/20 minutes.

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

Yes absolutely, as long as the piano is working and in tune I would be more than happy to use it.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

If you spot some tracks on my setlist that you really want to hear, I would be happy for you to let me know in advance. I don't usually take song requests during a performance but please be assured that i will be able to judge the atmosphere and know which songs will go down well with your crowd!

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

Yes, I bring my stage piano and equipment as standard.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If there is a special song you would like that isn't in my list, every price package includes 3 song requests. If you would like more than this, there is an additional fee of £30 per song (above the included 3), to cover the cost of time spent rehearsing.
