The Strings of Serenity (SoS!) - here in your time of need! A dashing quartet, presenting beautiful classical, pop and folk arrangements. As well as the traditional lineup of 2 violins, viola and cello, the group can also present a variety of other figurations - including, guitar, dulcimer, harp and mandolin. SoS are here when you need them - and music is necessary for the soul. The perfect aperitif for your event - be it in the park, in a cafe, at a wedding reception. We also offer a brilliant backing-track option, which often gets people dancing as they pass by. "If music be the food of love, play on" said the bard, William Shakespeare - and that is the Strings of Serenity intend to do.

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

Our line up is: Violin, Violin, Viola, Cello - but we can also provide Celtic Harp, Dulcimer, Guitar and Mandolin.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Generally we perform in 30-40 minute bursts, with short breaks in between. If this is part of a ceremony, we will liaise with the MC regarding the best times to play.

How much time do you need to set up?

We prefer to have up to 1 hour to set up, tune and warm up - this will ensure the best possible sound. but we're incredibly flexible if needs be, can set up within 15 minutes.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes, we have a wonderful 'menu of music', cooked to perfection

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

We bring all the instruments and PA system necessary

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

For an extra fee (around £40), we can learn any piece, and will rehearse it especially for your event. You can search online for a score and we can consult you where to purchase the score - or, we can even arrange this ourselves (around £70) and name the arrangement in your honour.
