Public liability insurance of £10 million

Sync ‘N’ Spin is a London-based music act blending DJ sets with live percussion, delivering impactful entertainment which will add that extra spark to any event. Musical expertise combined with high-energy performances meld to create lasting memories which will impress any audience. Packages can be customised and tailored to suit any and all occasions, allowing for the perfect accompaniment to events and functions. Sync ‘N’ Spin was set up by drummer and session musician Alex Shad, who has been working professionally in the music industry for 15 years. Alex has played events ranging from Glastonbury and Boomtown festivals, to accompanying the likes of Chris Rock and Jason Manford at The Comedy Store and Flackstock. His talents have taken him around the world and into numerous cultures and communities, including performing live in Trafalgar Square for London Pride and joining Amy Winehouse’s original band to honour her with renditions of her biggest hits. Alex has also graced TV screens across the globe, with features on Netflix’s The Crown, and CBBC’s Saturday Morning Mashup, and has been fortunate enough to record at the prestigious Abbey Road and RAK studios. Combining his passion for playing drums with his band leadership skills and technical abilities was an obvious next step for him, and he now strives to be recognised and hired as an independent act in his own right. Sync ‘N’ Spin are passionate about inclusivity, and are proud to offer our services to clients within the LGBTQ+ community and beyond.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Clients love our dynamic and effervescent performances, which we strive to infuse with as much charisma, passion and joy as possible. Our main goal with our events is that the guests are smiling by the time they leave, and leaving a lasting impression which will make them go home raving about the music.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

- Glastonbury Festival - Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club - The Comedy Store - Greek Street Live - Playlist Live - The Piano Works - The Dorchester - The Londoner - Boomtown Festival - Alexandra Palace - Flackstock - Chelsea Flower Show - Pride in London - Kendal Calling Festival - Abbey Road Studios - RAK Studios - Shepherd's Bush Empire - Wembley Stadium

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

- Tower of Power - Stevie Wonder - Jamiroquai - Snarky Puppy - Earth, Wind and Fire

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Our frontman Alex has played at Glastonbury festival, whilst our vocalist Nats has played on the main stage at Pride in London. These are just a couple of examples of the amazing accolades of our musicians!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

As long as you give us enough notice (ideally a few weeks minimum), then we should be able to accommodate any timing changes. On the off chance that we are unable to, we will work with you to come up with a suitable alternative!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely! We are more than happy to provide this, should you wish.

How much time do you need to set up?

We require a minimum of 1.5 hours in order to sufficiently set up to play and achieve optimal sound levels. If for whatever reason it is not possible, we are able to bring additional assistance with us in order to be set up quickly; however this will be an additional cost of £200 to cover the payment of extra help.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

We do accept musical requests, however we will need to be made aware of these well in advance to allow sufficient time to work out where they best fit in the set, and for musicians to learn them. If we feel that a song contrasts the rest of the set too much, we will kindly inform you and suggest a suitable replacement.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes! We are fully equipped with all of the necessary equipment in order to make your event one to remember. The equipment we have is suitable for events with up to 400 guests, and includes the following: microphones, cables, percussion with stands, sound desk, DJ decks, speakers and lights.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Of course! If you have any more than 5 songs that you specifically want us to learn which we don't already have in our repertoire, there will be an extra charge for this to account for the time and practise that will go into the musicians learning them.
