"Ksneiia's playing was beautiful. She played some beautiful pieces for an hour, a combination of her gypsy folk, jaunty favourites and more. The finale was Concerning Hobbits, which she perfected. This was my first time exploring a service like this and I will proudly tell anyone who will listen to us it - and certainly refer them to her. Her communication was spot-on. So proactive and understanding. She began promptly, arrived very well presented and had everything organised as agreed. She shared her set-list and we discussed a special request that she learnt specifically. I'm sure we both shared a little anxiety about the weather and planning around that, but even with some unpredictable wind conditions her playing was magnificent. This was a huge moment for me, as I was proposing to my now Fiancé,(Yay!) And I wanted everything to run smoothly. We exchanged conversation in the Encore app, and then expecting Ksneiia would have other clients to message I pivoted over to email around 1 week before the planned performance, to respect the space and not be over-chatty and take away her time. This was a great way to do things, and I felt assured that both the Encore process and our emails were secure. The Encore team also reached out as a point of contact for reassurance and to advise on specific steps that happen post deposit/post reservation paid. My Fiancé loved the music and was so happy to have had a private and memorable experience, perfectly timed for the sunset in a rather unpredictable British weekend of weather! Thank you so much Ksneiia, I hope you continue to share your gift and make a great success of your talents. Best wishes Robbie & Maria "

"Emma-Marie is a very talented musician and was wonderful to work with. I booked her to play on the lawn at our wedding reception as guests arrived, and it was everything I’d dreamed of. She was very easy to make arrangements with in the run up to the event, too. Many of our wedding guests have also commented how much they enjoyed seeing her play. "

FAQs about hiring Violinists in Hampshire
Take the stress out of hiring musicians with Encore
Are violins popular for weddings?
Yes, absolutely, particularly for smaller, more intimate weddings, one violinist can be enough. A solo violinist can create a beautiful, elegant atmosphere that is loud enough to be heard by everyone without drowning out conversation. However, for larger weddings, you might want to opt for a string quartet or a string duo instead for a fuller sound. If unsure, chat with one of our experts today who talk through your budget, venue and tastes to work out what would work best for you.
Is one violin enough for a wedding?
Yes, violinists are very popular for weddings. Traditional, acoustic violinists are great for wedding ceremonies, evening meals and wedding breakfasts, whereas electric violinists are popular for drinks receptions as they have a louder sound.
Which songs sound best on the violin?
The violin is often associated with classical music, but it's a versatile instrument that can work well with many genres. If you're a fan of classical music, you might enjoy listening to Pachelbel's Canon in D, Beethoven's "Spring" Sonata, or Tchaikovsky's "Melodie". For those who prefer modern music, songs like Adele's "Someone Like You", Ed Sheeran's "Perfect", or Bruno Mars' "Just the Way You Are" sound great on the violin. If you browse through our musicians’ profiles, you’ll be able to find videos of their live performances and their song lists to get an idea of their sound. It's worth mentioning, however, that our violinists are skilled professionals who are committed to making sure you have a great night and are more than willing to take requests if you can’t find your favourite song on their profile.
Which is better violin or electric violin?
Choosing between a traditional acoustic violin and an electric violin depends on factors like venue size, acoustics, and budget. Acoustic violins produce a warm sound but may not project well in larger spaces. Electric violins can amplify sound and offer digital effects, but some argue they lack natural expression. Ultimately, what works best will depend on your preferences and many of our violinists own both acoustic and electric so browse our collection of violinists today to see what might work best for you.
