Martin Sutton on tenor sax/clarinet also plays lead alto sax with Constellation Big Band, baritone sax/clarinet with Morriston Big Band and is a regular on the Gypsy Jazz scene including the “Toot Sweet” ensemble. Mike Ashford on piano is a popular regular at jazz club jam sessions. Regular bass players include Alun Vaughan and Chris Davies, with Dewi Davies or Mark Thomas on drums. The group offers new arrangements of swing classics, mixed with lively Latin and pop fusion, perfect for dancing or just sitting back to enjoy the jazz vibe.

In January we had 'All That Jazz' perform at our venue and it was a truly beautiful night. They played a broad range of jazz classics alongside more modern numbers, and attracted a diverse audience both in terms of age and background. It was a roaring success with a lindy-hop taster session included during the interval, led by local lindy-hop teachers, and everyone we spoke to on the night raved about how much fun they'd had, and how they'd like to do it again. We'd love to host further events and look forward to working with Martin, and All That Jazz, in the future.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

A fun band that really loves playing jazz and wants to share that with our our listeners. Carefully chosen repertoire perfect either for dancing or for atmosphere. Original arrangements that bring jazz standards to life and explore Latin, funk and pop fusion in an imaginative jazz style.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Recent venues include Tumble Hall (Tea Dance and lunch club), Railway Inn (Upper Killay, Swansea), Gin and Juice (Mumbles), Elysium (Swansea), Morriston Golf Club (private function), Swansea University Students' Union

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

We do have pre-audititioned 'dep' musicians available in case a band member falls ill or is unavailable. As a well known local band our reputation means everything so you can be confident that all of our players are of a very high level.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our standard 5 piece line up is vocals, sax/clarinet, piano and bass. Options include 4 piece without vocals, 3 piece vocals/sax/piano with backings, 2 piece sax/vocals or sax/piano. Solo sax/clarinet with backings is also available depending on the type of event.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are based on ouer experience of what works best for a particular event, for example if background jazz is needed for atmosphere, or more lively music for dancing. We are happy to discuss any of your requirements, including particular styles of jazz.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

We have our own PA. We would usually use a venue's lighting system. Please check with us if we need to provide lighting.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Our song list is only a sample of our repertoire so if you have requests we should be able to help out.
