Latest reviews of our Wedding Violinists in Aberdeenshire

"Aden recently led 2nd Violins in the Reid Consort's performance of Handel's Messiah in the Reid Concert Hall, University of Edinburgh, which I conducted. In addition to being a talented violinist with great enthusiasm in his playing style, he is highly professional in his approach to rehearsal providing welcome feedback, responding well to specific instructions and remaining calm and cheery when things didn't always go to plan: skills clearly developed from years of hard work and experience. Aden is a pleasure to work with and I endorse him wholeheartedly to anyone seeking a strong violinist."

What kind of music can a violinist play?
Pretty much anything! Violinists will usually be most comfortable playing classical music, but that doesn't mean they won't be able whip up fresh renditions of your favourite pop, folk, or jazz tunes. Best to check first before asking them to play krautrock though.
Will I need to provide the violinist with any equipment?
Other than a seat for breaks, probably not. If your venue is small, they will likely play unamplified. All they'll need to make the music happen is their violin, a bow, and a receptive audience (oh, and probably a music stand). If your venue is larger, they should be able to provide amplification.
Do violinists normally play with backing tracks?
It depends. If you only want the violinist’s performance to include classical pieces, they probably won’t need backing tracks. If the violinist’s performance includes pop songs or other styles, they may be able to provide backing tracks to fill out their performance. They’ll often perform the melody line of popular tunes, alongside pre-prepared backing tracks (think: ‘Perfect’ by Ed Sheeran, or ‘Skyfall’ by Adele - these songs sound great played on violin!).
